Los Angeles, CA (February 24,2022) – Metro’s board of directors today voted to approve a 147 million dollar contract for Southland Transit, Inc. (STI) to continue operating its contracted bus lines in the East Region. The new contract will extend the company’s partnership with the Agency by 8 years, beginning July 2022.
STI has provided contracted transportation services to Metro since 2005 and currently operates its East Region contracted lines. Under the new agreement, STI will continue to be responsible for all aspects of dispatching, operations and maintenance, utilizing a fleet of 41 fixed route transit buses provided by Metro.
